Deep Tissue Massage

Deep tissue massage offers both physical and psychological benefits. Unlike other massage techniques that focus on relaxation, deep tissue massage helps to treat muscle pain and improve stiffness. But it can still help you unwind mentally, too.

  • Sports Injuries
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Plantar Fasciitis
  • High Blood Pressure
  • Sciatica
  • Tennis Elbow

Therapeutic Pain Relief

Therapeutic massage has been shown to improve joint flexibility, relieve lower back pain, and stimulate the release of endorphins.

It can also be used to treat and prevent the following conditions:

  • Arthritis
  • Sports injuries, work-related injuries, and repetitive strain injuries (carpal tunnel, plantar fasciitis, tendonitis, bursitis)
  • Anxiety, depression, tension, and stress
  • Walking or running-related pain
  • Poor posture and suboptimal use of the body in movement

“Therapeutic massage manipulates the body’s soft tissue, so it also stimulates the flow of fluid in the lymphatic system, which can improve natural immunity. In addition, when received soon after surgery, therapeutic massage can help reduce post-surgery swelling or adhesions,”

Pregnancy(Prenatal) Massage

Pregnancy massage may help relieve some of the aches and pains of pregnancy. But it does have some risks; it isn't suitable for every person or every pregnancy. And the benefits are:

  • Pain relief
  • Reduced swelling
  • Better sleep
  • Relaxation and stress reduction

Hot Stone Massage

  • Relief from pain and soreness – Studies indicate that massage therapy eases low back pain, muscle aches, pain after surgery and provides immediate relief for cancer patients with moderate-to-severe pain
  • Stress reduction – This probably won’t surprise you, but one study showed a 15-minute massage therapy break at work reduces stress better than a 15-minute break without massage
  • Better sleep – Massage therapy helps adults with insomnia and babies sleep better. This might sound like a miracle, but it’s supported by research
  • Improved immunity – Your immune system keeps you healthy despite exposure to germs, and this study shows that even one Swedish massage boosts immunity
  • Muscle relaxation without the pressure – Some people enjoy a ‘no pain, no gain’ approach to massage, but it’s not for everyone. In a hot stone massage, less pressure is needed for deep muscle relaxation because of the added heat. People with fibromyalgia, arthritis, or other chronic pain may appreciate a lighter touch

Reflexology

Reflexology Massage

Reflexology is an ancient healing practice based on the principle that there are reflex points on the feet that correspond to the body’s different organs and glands. Remember that the human foot is an evolutionary marvel, capable of handling hundreds of tons of force and your weight in motion. It has 42 muscles, 26 bones, 33 joints, 250,000 sweat glands, and at least 50 ligaments and tendons—plus almost 15,000 nerve endings!

Benefits of Reflexology

Improves Blood Circulation

Improves Blood Circulation

Improves Blood Circulation

Due to a sedentary lifestyle, many people don’t use their feet muscles properly, thus impeding good blood flow. Also, tight, pointed shoes¬–especially high heels–hinder circulation. Ten minutes of foot massage daily helps in transporting oxygen to the body’s cells, which is essential for overall health.

Helps in Relaxation

Improves Blood Circulation

Improves Blood Circulation

After a tiring and stressful day, a foot massage is a soothing and relaxing way to relax, particularly after a long day of standing and walking around, as the feet tend to swell up. Massage and reflexology of 5 to 10 minutes before going to bed can improve feelings of general well-being.

Promotes Better Sleep

Promotes Better Sleep

The best time to do a foot massage is before going to bed. A soothing and relaxing foot massage improves blood circulation. This helps in getting a peaceful sleep.

Relieves Body Pains

Improves Mood and Fights Depression

Promotes Better Sleep

This is the best part of reflexology. If done carefully, it treats pains and aches such as headaches, migraines, neck pain, lower and upper backaches.

Foot massage and reflexology helps in fighting depression. Certain points on the feet are helpful in alleviating depression symptoms. Massaging these points or applying pressure to them for a few minutes 2 or 3 times a day can help relieve symptoms of depression.

Makes Feet Healthier

One easy way to help keep your feet healthy and free from foot problems is a regular foot massage. It helps stimulate the muscles around your feet, lessens stiffness and even reduces pain in the ankles or the heels. Plus, a short 5-minute foot massage daily will make your ankles strong and flexible, thus preventing unpleasant ankle and foot injuries.

Alleviates Swelling (Edema)

Regular foot massage during pregnancy can help reduce the effects of edema, which is swelling in the feet and ankles due to fluid retention. This is very common during pregnancy, especially in the last trimester.

Extra Tip

It has been found that massaging your feet with warm olive oil or coconut oil can give much relief from the pain and inflammation caused by foot tendonitis

Osteo-articulation

Visceral Manipulation

Visceral Manipulation

Manual Osteopathic Therapists use this technique to reduce muscle spasms near a joint, ease neurological irritations around a joint, make joints more mobile, and reduce pain and discomfort. The osteoarticular technique involves gently moving 2 joint surfaces. Before doing this, a manual osteopathic therapist carefully prepares the soft tissues around the treatment area.

They also move the patient into a position that will minimize or eliminate the energy and force needed to perform the maneuver. Many patients find this technique less forceful than joint manipulations.

Visceral Manipulation

Visceral Manipulation

Visceral Manipulation

Manual Osteopathic Therapists use visceral manipulation to treat organs and viscera of the body, including the liver, spleen, kidneys, stomach, pancreas, intestines, bladder, and uterus. Patients may feel pain in one or more of these organs, or the viscera may be less pliable than it should be.

Manual osteopathic therapists gently move the structures themselves and the fascia (connective tissue) that surrounds them to restore full movement. Most patients treated with visceral manipulation feel only the gentle pressure of the manual osteopath’s hand, but the corrections are powerful enough to improve the mobility of an organ, improve blood flow, and help the organ function more effectively.

CranioSacral Therapy

Advanced Fascia Release

Advanced Fascia Release

This is a very gentle osteopathic technique, and it requires the most experience to use effectively. To learn this technique, Manual osteopathic therapists undergo intensive training. Through this training, their hands become sensitive to cranial mobility and develop great precision in utilizing cranial techniques.

Manual osteopathic therapists use this gentle technique to assess and treat the mobility of the skull and its contents. They may also use it to assess and treat the spine, the sacrum, and other parts of the body. The goal of this technique is to adjust the body’s physiology by restoring balance to the circulation of the blood and other body fluids.

Manual osteopathic therapists do this by treating the body’s inherent biorhythm. They are able to feel this rhythm in the patient’s head, spinal cord, and the sacrum, and the rest of the body. Manual osteopathic therapists use the biorhythm to assess the patient’s condition, and they may modify it during treatment.

Advanced Fascia Release

Advanced Fascia Release

Advanced Fascia Release

The practitioner uses advanced fascia release in many different ways. In general, they use it to evaluate the condition of tissues and to help the body’s fluids (such as blood and lymphatic fluid) flow smoothly. Keeping fluids flowing smoothly reduces harmful fluid retention and makes the body’s immune system more effective. Fascia is the tissue found in all parts of the body. It connects all of the body’s structures at both superficial and deep levels.

Practitioners evaluate the fascia to find areas of restriction and then use soft tissue manipulation to make sure the length and tension of the fascia are properly balanced. Throughout the treatment, manual osteopaths keep checking on the state of the body’s tissues. If one technique isn’t working to correct a restriction, they use another approach instead. Above all, manual osteopaths try to restore health without over-treating.

relaxation massage

Swedish Massage

The most common type of massage is Swedish massage therapy. It involves soft, long, kneading strokes, as well as light, rhythmic, tapping strokes on topmost layers of muscles. This is also combined with the movement of the joints. By relieving muscle tension, Swedish therapy can be both relaxing and energizing. And it may even help after an injury.

Four common strokes of Swedish massage are:

  • Effleurage: a smooth, gliding stroke used to relax soft tissue
  • Petrissage: the squeezing, rolling, or kneading that follows effleurage
  • Friction: deep, circular movements that cause layers of tissue to rub against each other, helping to increase blood flow and break down scar tissue
  • Tapotement: a short, alternating tap done with cupped hands, fingers, or the edge of the hand

Chair massage

Chair Massage

Ever gone to a county fair, music festival, or conference and envied other people getting chair massages? Passed by the chair massage section in an airport? Or, maybe you're lucky enough to work at a company that offers 15- to 20-minute massages as a regular benefit. Onsite, chair massages are done while you're seated fully clothed in a portable, specially designed chair. They usually involve a massage of your neck, shoulders, back, arms, and hands.

Deep tissue massage

Shiatsu Massage

In Japanese, shiatsu means "finger pressure." For shiatsu massage, the therapist uses varied, rhythmic pressure on certain precise points of the body. These points are called Acupressure points, and they are believed to be important for the flow of the body's vital energy, called chi. Proponents say shiatsu massage can help relieve blockages at these acupressure points.

Osteopathic Manual Therapy

Osteopathic manual therapy is a drug-free, non-invasive form of manual therapy that focuses on restoring health across all body systems. The goal of osteopathic manual therapy is to strengthen and rebalance the musculoskeletal framework to improve the function of the body’s nervous, circulatory, and lymphatic systems. Osteopathic manual practitioners look at the body as a whole, as opposed to one specific problem area.

Treatment consists of hands-on therapy involving stretching, gentle pressure, and resistance. Work is completed on the bones, joints, muscles, connective tissue, organs, nerves, blood vessels, and lymphatics. Unlike chiropractic treatment, high-intensity mobilizations and adjustments are not completed. Osteopathic manual therapy feels much more gentle, and most people report feeling relaxed following treatment.

Shock Wave Therapy

Shockwave Therapy

Shockwave therapy is a well-researched medical treatment using mechanical pressure waves that work on the body to stimulate repair and pain relief. It is validated by years of clinical use as well as extensive medical studies.

Safe

Shockwave Therapy has been used for many years as a safe, non-invasive treatment alternative to surgery that uses strong pressure waves (extracorporeal shock wave energy) to relieve many tendons and muscle disorders. Originally used to disintegrate kidney stones, Shockwave Therapy has since evolved and successfully treated many soft tissue conditions.

Used for Multiple Conditions

Shockwave therapy has been used for multiple conditions including, neck, back, and knee and shoulder pain. It has also been used for heel and elbow conditions Shockwave is a non-invasive and relatively safe treatment. During treatments, a probe is applied to the affected area, and several thousand impulses are administered.

The impulses are delivered through the skin as a shockwave that spreads inside the injured tissue as a ‘radial’ wave. These radial shockwaves initiate an inflammation-like response in the injured tissue that is being treated and prompt the body to respond naturally by increasing metabolism in the injured tissue.

Quick & Simple

Shockwave therapy is also a quick and simple procedure. It is completely non-invasive and involves no needles or numbing agents. The results are felt as soon as the next day, with no risk of irritation, swelling, or bruising that usually follows many other treatment therapies. Your foot should feel less pain practically right away.
